Negombo is a city on the west bank of Sri Lanka, north of the capital, Colombo. Close to the waterfront, the remaining parts of the seventeenth century Dutch Fort currently house a jail. Negombo Lagoon, fixed with anglers’ hovels, takes care of into the Dutch-period Hamilton Canal. The trench drives south to Colombo. Neoclassical St. Mary’s Church, finished during the 1920s, includes a roof enlivened with clear strict canvases.
